College Tours || Colorado College

Recently, I took my first college tour to Colorado College in Colorado Springs. Ok, I’m getting a late start to the college tour game. I should’ve started touring way earlier. I said I was going to. But time just got away from me, and it was hard to fit it in between schoolwork, extracurriculars, and my parents’ work schedules. So, here I am, heading into my senior year, and just beginning to tour. I do have more scheduled this summer, and there’s no doubt I will be back to most of these campuses if I apply and do get accepted into them, just to get a better feel for what the campus is like, especially with students around, since sometimes it is hard to picture campus life in the summer with no students around. It gets realer and realer by the day. In less than a month, I’ll start my senior year, college getting closer and closer, realer and realer by the day, so let’s jump into my first college tour experience.

We got there according to what the email said, so we had awhile to read brochures and do whatever we needed to do before the information session. An admissions guy walked us to the building where the information session was, which was different than normal because they’re doing a lot of renovations on campus right now, keeping an older campus looking very nice.Side note: Being the total pro I am, I forgot to take pictures while I was there, so stock images it is.

The room was very cold, and it didn’t help that we sat right behind a blower. But the lady that gave the session was informative, though the majority of the time was spent talking about the block plan, which is a unique way of studying in which you only take one class at a time for a block, which is 2 and a half weeks. Then you have 4 days between blocks to relax and prepare your mind for the next block. It’s a very interesting idea, I’m not completely sold on it, but the campus makes me want to consider the school.

The campus is beautiful, just like surrounding Colorado Springs. with mountain views and what not. It has an old feel to it, but it’s obvious they take very good care of the campus, since, despite its age, it looks amazing.

It’s definitely a reach school for me, and I’m not totally sure about it, but I’ll definitely apply and see what happens.
